Copra Dryer
Copra, got by drying the fresh coconut, is used for extracting coconut oil which has both domestic and industrial applications. In Tamilnadu, copra is processed by open sun drying as we get goodsunlight for most of the days in the year. In Kerala, copra is processed by using dryers. Many small companies are using the dryers in which they put the coconut shells as fuel. 50% of the coconut shells which is got from drying the coconuts are used as a fuel. They simply burn the coconut shells to produce heat for drying. My charcoal machine if used in these industries will stop the coconut shells wastages. The coconut shells fed in my machine will all be converted as charcoal and the heat produced during charcoal conversion will be used for copra drying. Instead of losing 50% of coconut shells for copra drying, using my machine saves them fully thereby these companies get extra revenue.

Essar Engineers continuous copra drying system is designed by us indigenously and patent applied. This system dries the raw coconut to copra in 24 hours. Raw coconuts cut into two half and water is drained. Half cut coconuts are fed to the primary dryer by a feeding bucket conveyor system. At a prescribed time limit, the partially dried coconuts are discharged out from the primary dryer. Then the outer shells are scooped out from the nut manually. The nuts are then fed to the secondary dryer with the help of feed bucket conveyor. At a prescribed time limit the fully dried nuts (copra) are discharged out from the secondary dryer. The copra that is discharged out from the dryer can be packed or can be conveyed directly to the oil expeller where coconut oil is expelled out. Hot air for these two dryers is supplied by our coconut shell charcoal making machine. The shells that are got from dryer are fed to the charcoal making machine. Both the primary drying and secondary drying can be achieved in 24 hours.
